Boys Seeded Fourth in Sectional Playoffs

[vc_row type=”in_container” full_screen_row_position=”middle” scene_position=”center” text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” overlay_strength=”0.3″][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ width=”1/1″ tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default”][vc_column_text]Well, I successfully predicted our sectional playoff seeding (4th) and our first opponent (St. Louis Park) and managed to get a few other things right.

Washburn boys varsity will face the St. Louis Park Orioles on Thursday, October 15, kicking off sectional playoffs at home at Washburn Stadium. Game time is 7:00pm, and the overall sectional brackets for 6AA now look like this [update: the combined boys AA brackets are here]:[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”in_container” full_screen_row_position=”middle” scene_position=”center” text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” overlay_strength=”0.3″][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ width=”1/1″ tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default”][vc_column_text]6AA Sectional Playoffs: 2015[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”in_container” full_screen_row_position=”middle” scene_position=”center” text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” overlay_strength=”0.3″][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ width=”1/1″ tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default”][vc_column_text]Somewhat surprisingly, Minneapolis South dropped to the third seed behind second-seeded Minneapolis Southwest, despite South having a better overall record and splitting two regular-season matches against Southwest, the second one a 2-1 home win over the Lakers later in the season.

We provided a quick primer on how sectionals and the state tournament work, so if you have questions you may want to consult the sectional playoff post here (and see what we got wrong or right with the predictions). We will also have the girls 6AA sectional brackets up in bit. The girls are seeded second behind Wayzata and play Cretin-Derham Hall, also at home on October 15.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
