Online registration is now open for the 2021 Washburn Boys Soccer program. The online registration form is available here and will allow you to register and pay all fees online. While additional forms must be submitted to the Washburn High School athletic office, online registration will allow us to streamline the registration process and allow students who are on vacation or out of town to pay required fees and register without having to attend a sports registration night.

How much does it cost?
It costs $75 to register for tryouts and boys soccer. In addition, the boosters are encouraging as many parents as possible to contribute $100 to the Washburn Soccer Boosters, which uses the funds to help build and maintain a strong boys soccer program. More information about the boosters is here. You do not need contribute to the boosters in order to play Washburn soccer.
What if my son does not make a team?
The $75 participating fee and booster contributions are refunded if a player does not make a team or if he chooses not to play on the team for which he is selected.
Are there scholarships available to cover the $75 participation fee?
Yes. You should talk to Reggie Perkins, the Washburn Athletic Director, to learn whether a scholarship is available for you. If you qualify, you will be given a code you can use to apply the scholarship as part of online registration. Mr. Perkins’s email and phone number are [email protected] and (612) 668-3456.
What is the deadline to register?
The deadline is August 12, 2021, for registering and for submitting all required forms.
Can my son participate in Captains’ Practices even though he’s not registered or has not submitted his sports physical?
A player does not need to be pre-registered or have a physical on file in order to participate in Captains’ Practices, which are optional practices run by incoming varsity team captains.
Where can a player get a sports physical?
Usually, through your own physician or medical clinic. TRIA, a local sports medicine clinic, sometimes provides free high school sports physicals. Finally, check with school-based clinics at Washburn, Roosevelt, and Southwest, which should offer MSHSL physicals over the summer.
Is online registration available for the girls soccer program?
No. Online registration is only currently available for those participating in the boys soccer program. The same forms, however, are required for all student-athletes planning to compete in the fall.
